Clinton Silver Residential Workshop in Jewish Migration

The Parkes Institute for Jewish/ non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton, UK is delighted to invite applications for 3 visiting fellows to attend a residential workshop in Jewish Migration.

We welcome applications from scholars at any stage of their career, working on topics related to Jewish migration. Scholars should have completed their PhD and be affiliated to a non-UK institution.

The fellowships are for a minimum of one month and a maximum of two months, and will provide up to £2500 to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses. The fellowship should be taken up between 16th April and 16th June 2018, with as much overlap as possible between the three fellows.

The Parkes Institute will provide access to the Parkes Library and Special Collections, as well as to a working space and university facilities. We can also provide support for visa applications where needed.

Fellows will be based in Southampton and are expected to attend Parkes events (such as the Tuesday evening seminars and doctoral seminars) and to participate in the intellectual life of the Institute. Fellows are also expected to deliver a seminar paper and to present their work to students.

Please send a CV and a 500-word statement outlining your research project and your plan for the fellowship to Dr Claire Le Foll (c.le-foll@soton.ac.uk) by 11 February 2018.
